I'm an educator, a believer in the relationship-economy, and an experienced "donor-centered" fundraiser.

I've spent the better part of the last 25 years working with some of the most incredible and philanthropic people in the world. Creating opportunities for "Philanthropreneurs" to make an “impact investment” with their gift(s) is the single most rewarding aspect of my career. I'm an advisor, a coach, and investor to other nonprofits that focus on building the best possible donor experiences.

Originally from the New York/New Jersey area where I first gained my formative advancement experience at the Rutgers University Foundation. I have since had the opportunity to live and work in the slow and steady environment of Hickory, NC, the wilds of New England in Bridgton, ME, progressive Pittsburgh, PA, in the greatest region for independent boarding schools, north central, MA, and now in the forward-thinking Midwest city of Milwaukee.

I have cultivated donors extensively throughout our great nation, and in the far reaches of our world - Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. Making deep connections is paramount and what I appreciate most about advancement work. It never gets old working with people who are philanthropic and possess an entrepreneurial spirit. My mantra is, “there is nothing we can’t do together!”

I once partnered with a close friend as a National Accounts Manager for a contract furniture line of high design and quality. It was an incredible experience where I honed my sales skills in a highly competitive manufacturing field coupled with the most engaging artistic talent in furniture design.

As a determined first-generation college student, I succeeded as a collegiate lacrosse student-athlete on scholarship. I am forever grateful to my college coaches and the donor(s) who provided me the opportunity to play at the highest level of lacrosse and participate in two NCAA championship lacrosse tournaments.

My most important attribute today is being a devoted family man. I am the proud husband of Brooke Abbott Tevlin, and the father to Kiley, Quinn, Darby, and Rory.

Current Hobbies: I am an avid paddle tennis player, hiker, swimmer. I enjoy sailing a Pearson Ensign on Lake Michigan as a member of the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center. To further enhance my relationship-economy, I enjoy coaching middle school boy’s lacrosse, I’m a modest bagpiper, a one-time kidney donor, and the ecstatic follower of a black lab named, Piper.
