Patrick disrupted the business model of publishing by crowdsourcing and -funding the Bestselling Business Book "Business Model Generation" (BMG) in cooperation with Alex Osterwalder, Yves Pigneur, Alan Smith and Tim Clark. BMG was crowdsourced and -funded in 2009 by a community of 470 co-creators from 45 countries. Almost 1 million copies are sold.

Patrick introduced a new business model for consulting. No more hourly rates, reports and vague deliverables. With Business Models Inc. a new business model in consulting is introduced working and co-creating with clients, visualizing instead of writing and delivery of business results.

Patrick has been speaking, training and consulting on business model innovation in more than 34 countries.
