Hello, I’m The Patriotess. I’m an amateur Genealogist living on the East Coast of the United States. I am a fan of Genealogy, Military History, and anything American. Even though society hindered females attempting to participate in the Revolutionary War, American women did many things that benefited their country in many different ways. Women often managed homesteads, worked farms, often while single-handedly dealing with Indian attacks, the Redcoats, and pioneer and frontier living. They cared for the sick so their families could stay together while their husbands were forming the nation, fighting, or rallying the nation. These Patriots endured hardships only they could understand. Many times women uprooted their families to follow their husbands or left their children behind to be raised by friends and family. Most of them endured and suffered alongside their soldiers. Sometimes this included a lack of food, clothing and shelter.

These brave and dedicated women refused to buy British made products and even engaged in spying. Unfortunately their endeavors often went undocumented and unrecorded. Their support and selfless actions allowed their men to start a Revolution and create a new nation. We love America and honor the men and women who suffered, survived, struggled and died to create America the beautiful. Home of the Free and the Brave!!
