Paul Heylin

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Journalism at UOW because I have always held a great amount of respect for the art of storytelling in all its forms. From the time I was a child I have expressed a particular interest in the media of cinema and occasionally well delivered anecdotes. As I matured I began to understand and appreciate the elements of a good story, which naturally drew me to Journalism, a profession based in storytelling. My ideal Journalistic goal is to discover, interpret and relate events that maintain an interesting relevance to both the public and myself through the time-honoured art of storytelling. I can think of nothing more fulfilling than to make a living sharing the enjoyment of a well structured and intrinsically interesting story with the public while maintaining one hundred percent of the original storytellers purpose and integrity. It’s under these self imposed guidelines that I will hone my journalistic skills in preparation for the future.
