As a behavior scientist I am specialised in neurocognitive disorders, in particular dementia. I give lectures, presentations, workshops and schooling on dementia, on dementia care and on the prevention of dementia.
I am a doctor of the future, as Edison said: “The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” ~Thomas Edison 1947-1931
I hold an MBA and a Ph.D. in Social & Behavioral Sciences. I have specialized in the relationship between cognition and behavior. I work for the Dutch 'Dementiawise Foundation' (Stichting Dementiewijs) where I spread Dementia Wisdom through lectures, workshops and trainings. I also do work for Dr. Anneke van der Plaats and her 'BrainCollective' (BreinCollectief) and sometimes replace her.
I also wrote the Standards for Dementia Care (April '15) based on the Universal Human Rights and the CPT Standards.
I am Ambassador for the Purple Angel, helping raise dementia awareness around the world.
