Paul Saintilan

Sydney and Melbourne, Australia

I am interested in entertainment management, the intersection of art and commerce, artists and marketers, and more broadly, business and creativity. After training as a music composer, I graduated with an MBA degree, and then worked in international management at the major record companies EMI Music and Universal Music in London. Drawing on my experience of both artistic activity and business, both practically and theoretically, I want to be a force against dilettantism, and encourage the pursuit of excellence and greater sophistication in this field. As a lecturer in management, marketing and organisational behaviour, I want to help close the gap between theory and practice, between academic researchers and industry practitioners. As a meditator, I am also committed to positive education, and have been inspired by the work of Martin Seligman and Geelong Grammar in this area. I am currently Dean at The Australian College of the Arts 'Collarts', and previously ran AIM's Master of Arts Management program at Sydney Opera House. I am working on a PhD project at Deakin University.
