Paula Avila is the Co-Founder of Jr. Journalism, Vice President of The SkyBoat and a Sports Marketing & Media student at Full Sail University. She was born in Bogota, Colombia and was raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Growing up in a college football town played a major role in Paula’s drive and love for sports. She played soccer and flag football during her high school years and also excelled in her web design class during that time as she was given the “Best Web Designer” award during her senior year.

After graduating from high school Paula wasn’t sure what she wanted to do with her life, so she took a couple of classes at the community college and worked a full time job; this did not work out too well for her because she was focusing more on her job and was leaving school behind.
In the summer of 2012, she received a flyer from Full Sail University advertising the Sports Marketing program, she was sold on the program once she toured the ESPN lab on campus and saw all the opportunities she could pursue in a field she was passionate for since her childhood. She wasted no time after this and began taking classes online in September of 2012 and moved to Orlando, Florida in January 2013 to be a campus student.

Soon after becoming a campus student, she met Adrian Beecher, a fellow classmate in the Entertainment Business program who was in the process of getting a media company off the ground called The SkyBoat. He had an idea of creating something that had never been done before. His passion was to feed and change the world. Paula understood, liked and took his idea seriously, so she joined his team in February 2013 after helping him design the company logo. Since then, the two have provided students with opportunities to cover professional sports and entertainment events in Orlando and its surrounding areas.
