International art is a key way to develop understanding and appreciation for other cultures. That is why Paul Adalsteinsson makes a hobby of examining and appreciating international art from a variety of different sources. Included in the Pan American Modernism are over 70 works of art, several of which have not appeared in any prior exhibits, making them quite a novelty for aficionados such as Paul Adalsteinsson. The pieces range from innovative mixed media works to traditional sculptures and paintings, as well as various photographs and works on paper. Concepts covered by the various works include modernist photography, Mexican muralism, minimalism and more. Also bringing artwork from around the world to new and excited audiences is the exhibit called Above the Fold. For folks like Paul Adalsteinsson, this represents a fresh new perspective on the traditional Japanese art form known as origami. Nine artists have contributed to the exhibit, ranging from natives of Japan to those from the USA, France and Israel. These works are unique pieces of sculpture crafted from paper from artists who have very dynamic backgrounds, with ages ranging between 29 years to 71. Some of the artists are featured in renowned museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian.

Many of the pieces are created by the artists specifically for the Above the Fold exhibit, thus revealing those that have never been viewed before. They each cover aspects of topics in life and modern art, offering commentaries from their diverse perspectives.
