Hi, my name is Paula and I am a second level teacher of RE and history in Dublin.
Passionate about teaching and learning, I have a particular interest in promoting quality Religious Education in the classroom and am committed to developing practical and quality resources to help promote this. In the times that we live in, this is more important than ever.
My work in the classroom is at the heart of what I do. I seek to continually reflect and learn on the needs of our learners as our environments evolve and change, Emerging items such as embedding digital technologies, promoting literacy and encouraging differentiation are just some of my areas of interest in the classroom.
I then like to share my practical approaches to RE with fellow teachers by creating resources and facilitating CPD and I am fortunate to have many years experience in this area.
I have a wealth of experience in RE, some of which include
- Teacher of JCRE (since 2004) and LCRE (since 2009)
- JCT RE Associate for the Junior Cycle RE specification
- Co-author of ‘Beliefs in Our World’ at Gill Education with Gary Carley
- Co-author of Blended Learning Booklet in collaboration with Coláiste Bríde and The Examcraft Group
- Facilitator of CPD in RE for a number of different associations
- PME lecturer in RE at Maynooth University
- PME Placement tutor at DCU
- Member of RTAI (Religion Teachers Association of Ireland)
- APII post holder at Coláiste Bríde, Clondalkin in the area of staff CPD, subject co-ordinator support and senior cycle review
- Masters of Education Training Management (e-learning) from DCU
- Chief Advising Examiner of Junior Certificate RE
- Previous advisor for RE for both the PDST and SESS
