Paula O'Neill
Paula currently works in Internal Communications at Bristol-Myers Squibb. She is inspired by the company’s mission to “help patients prevail over serious diseases” and proud to work for an industry that brings such great value to society. She says, “Having the opportunity to help patients every day is why I joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1986. I remember telling people, I save lives every day.” Paula brings that energy and enthusiasm to work every day. During her tenure with Bristol-Myers Squibb, Paula has worked in various areas of responsibility including Marketing, Strategic Product Planning, International Medicines, Diagnostics, Business Development, Virology and Contract Management.
In 2002, Paula volunteered at Millhill Child & Family Development Center with a few other Bristol-Myers Squibb employees. Millhill had such a profound impact on Paula that day that she has been involved with the center ever since. It was after that volunteer activity when Paula decided she needed to do more for the children and families in the community. That is when Paula developed the year round volunteer program at Bristol-Myers Squibb entitled “Helping Hands”. This program provides employees throughout the U.S. the opportunity to volunteer in their community. Paula became a Millhill Child & Family Development Center Foundation Board member in 2006. As a Board member, Paula has been instrumental in the relationship between Millhill Child & Family Development Center and the surrounding area companies.
Paula also serves on the executive leadership team of the American Heart Association (AHA) of Mercer County, and recently received the 2010 Executive Challenge award for New Jersey and was the first recipient of the AHA Grasso Award as top fundraiser of the year. She was also named the AHA's Volunteer of the Year in 2006. In 2010, Paula was awarded the Top Fundraiser Award for the Arthritis Walk of Mercer County. The United Way of Central Jersey awarded Paula the 2006 Hometown Hero award. In 2004, Paula was honored as the Chair of the Year Award from the American Red Cross of Pennsylvania & New Jersey. In 2003, she received the Volunteer Service Award from A Women's Place in Bucks County, PA.
Paula was born and raised in New Jersey and currently resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and twin daughters.
