By day, I am the CEO and Founder of Kali Media, a content creation company for and by millennial East African women (niche indeed!)

I pay the bills as a freelance editor, journalist and digital strategist who has her fingers dipped in all parts of Africa, having reported from East, South and West Africa. I have written for PBS Newshour, Reuters, The Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Ebony and Essence.

I am currently the Weekend Editor at Essence.com

By night, I'm an avid cookbook reader, traveler, reality show fiend, visual and print storyteller and #ProudKenyan...Well, I am a #ProudKenyan all hours of the day.

If it's not already clear, I have a passion for all things Africa and Afroglobal. I focus on creating content about the great continent with specific interests with anything to do with millennial women.

I am graduate of the University of Virginia and Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.

I split my time between D.C., Nola and Nairobi!
