I used to be one of the guys that liked to grab life by the horns, make it your own, get busy living or get busy dying, and an endless barrage of idealistic idioms and movie quotes.

Now that I'm 40, married with two little kids? I still like to think of myself as that guy. I still want to be that guy. I want to instill those notions in my kids. But in reality the idioms change ever so slightly;

Life is short, and busy, and not solely my own. Now I want to be the guy that lives as long and healthy as he can, provide for my family to have the best life they can.

...and every time a chance for something great comes along, grab it with both hands and enjoy the ride.
