Marcie Bronkar
Marcie Bronkar, a resident of Los Angeles, California, is a highly regarded textile designer whose works adorn the houses of many A-list celebrities. Her unique brand of quality, couture textiles are sought after the world over, making Marcie Bronkar one of the best-known designers in the industry today. Since the beginning of her career, Marcie Bronkar has avoided traditional ideas regarding textile and fabric conceptions in favor of a designer-centered creative process. Her work is extremely successful, allowing her to remain on the cutting edge of textile design. Marcie Bronkar began her career in New York City’s garment district, where she trained under some of the most renowned interior designers in the world. After spending years doing intensive research on the history of decorative arts, Marcie Bronkar worked as a Consultant and Designer for several interior design firms, including WestPoint Home, Paloma Picasso, Bloomcraft Fabrics, Wallcovering Books, and Bed Ensembles. Marcie Bronkar’s collections for Bloomcraft Fabrics, now part of P. Kaufmann Fabric, are based on the collections of several world-famous museums. Her designs were especially well received and played an important role in turning the company into an industry leader. Marcie Bronkar licensed and marketed several important lines under her own name before she launched her own firm, Home Couture, where she utilizes her talents as the company’s Creative Director. In this capacity, Ms. Bronkar has developed and sold textiles to industry leaders such as John Saladino, Dakota Jackson, Nancy Braithwaite, Barbara Barry, and Jeffrey Bilhuber. Marcie Bronkar’s works can be seen and purchased at her Los Angeles store, Home Couture. She also established Cloth & Paper and the Marcie Bronkar retail showroom, located in Hancock Park.
