Paul Ekon

Paul Ekon is a self-made business professional, investor and is active in many charities. He was born in South Africa in 1959 and was educated at the well-respected St. Stithians College, which led him to a two-year post in the country’s elite air force. An avid photographer, Paul set off for the US to pursue a career in photography. He soon returned to South Africa, where he used his keen entrepreneurial skills to build a host of companies and eating establishments in Johannesburg. Paul manages his businesses and investments from his home in the U.K.

Business Expertise

Paul Ekon jump started his prominent career when he founded and managed a score of businesses in South Africa. Success led to marketing profitable lines of local fashionable cosmetics and household products. With his earnings, he invested in a computer software company, Management Technologies Inc. (MTI). A public company, Paul became its CEO in 1995, and moved the company to a position of leadership with worldwide customers and $40 million in sales with the popular financial software packages, OpenTrade and Abraxsys.

Coupled with his noted successes, Paul founded and manages a high-profile venture capital business. He was instrumental in assisting in Vallar Plc’s recent acquisition of Bumi and Berau, two prominent coal manufacturers in Indonesia. This enormous $3B sale will give Vallar Plc the means of establishing a new company, Bumi Plc on the London stock exchange.

Charity at Home

Paul Ekon generously gives of himself, his energy and his wealth. Devoted to his native South Africa, he was involved in establishing a local orphan’s center, Faithways Church. The center supplies nutritious meals to local children in need. Paul’s vision led to expanding these centers across the country, where today, countless orphans are given meals and love.
