Pauline Chavez-Hemaidan is a Business Administration student at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. She is a working, licensed Cosmetologist, the mother of 5 year-old Aliyah, wife of Thomas, daughter of Mary, and the mistress of a house filled with 4 dogs, 4 birds, and 1 cat.

At the age of 28, Pauline decided to pursue her life-long dream of attaining a college education, and began her college career at Edgewood College. In August 2012, Pauline transferred to Madison College as a full-time Liberal Arts major.

Pauline blossomed at Madison College, going from a 3.2 GPA to a 3.8 GPA, becoming an active member of many school organizations such as: TrIO, Women of Color Scholars, Phi Theta Kappa, and Student Ambassadors. On April 2014, Madison College choose Pauline as the 2014-2015 Student Ambassador to the Wisconsin Technical College System.

As of May 2014, Pauline transferred back to Edgewood College as a Business Marketing major.

Along with other community service projects, Pauline has initiated a new annual program at Madison College, N.E.T. Saturday. This wildly successful event offered over 80 students interactive training on Networking,Dining Etiquette, building a professional image using Technology, body posture, salary negotiation, and other topics.

Currently, Pauline is working with the Edgewood College School of Business to develop a new Global Business Leaders Mentoring program that will include a Latino Global Business Leaders Initative, combined with a 10 day trip to Peru. Read more about this project here:
