Paul is an Attorney admitted to practice in New York and Lebanon, and a Lecturer in Law. He is passionate about empowering youth, shaping public policy, and redefining opportunities in the midst of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
At DLA Piper LLP in Silicon Valley, Paul’s practice is focused on corporate structuring and governance, company and investor-side venture and debt financings, private investment fund formation and operation, domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, FinTech, RegTech, and blockchain. Prior to this position, he served as a Compliance Extern at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and as a Legal Counsel at the Central Bank of Lebanon.
His published works include “The Distributed Ledger Technology: A Potential Revamp for Financial Markets?” (2018) and “The Legal Regime of the Collateral on Financial Markets” (2013).
In the course of his civic engagement, Paul has held leadership roles with Lions Clubs International, the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, and Mentor International. He also contributed to numerous policy-related endeavors including a peace building project for Lebanon by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and an anti-corruption initiative by the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS) in advocation for legal and judicial reforms.
Paul was recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Global Shaper and selected by the U.S. State Department as an “Inspirational Leader Driving Civic Participation” for the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). He also received Lions Clubs International’s “Centennial Award,” “Best Recruiter Award,” and “International Membership Key.”
Paul holds an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, and both a Masters and Bachelor of Laws from Université Saint-Joseph (USJ).
