A resident of Mendon, Vermont, Paul Ligon serves as senior vice president at Casella Waste Systems, where he is responsible for business development and strategy and enterprise sustainable growth. In this capacity, Paul Ligon has overseen initiatives including the profitable revenue growth-focused reorganization and turnaround of the firm’s major accounts unit.

Mr. Ligon currently serves on the board of GreenerU, a Waltham, Massachusetts enterprise focused on providing institutions of higher learning with campus energy management and sustainability solutions. He also serves on the board of Goodwill Industries of Northern New England, a nonprofit organization that spans more than two dozen retail locations region-wide and meets the essential needs of communities.

A graduate of the University of Vermont, Mr. Ligon earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, and he subsequently completed an MBA at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. With the latter, Paul Ligon spearheaded the creation of the “Business and Sustainability Initiative” in the early 2000s, which has since evolved into Tuck's annual "Business and Society Conference", a student-led event that brings together leaders from a wide range of fields to discuss the important role that business leaders can play in creating a more sustainable world.
