Paul M.A. Baker, Ph.D., is Senior Director, Research and Strategic Innovation, with the Center for Advanced Communications Policy (CACP) at Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a Principal Research Scientist and holds an Appointment by Courtesy with the School of Public Policy, at Georgia Tech. He is also Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Disability Law & Policy at the National University of Ireland, Galway. His areas of interest include the role of policy in advancing technology and universal accessibility goals for people with disabilities, wearable computing in social contexts, healthcare policy and technology adoption, the operation of communities of practice and online communities in virtual environments, and institutional change and innovation in higher education. He has served as chair of the Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America’s (RESNA) Government Affairs Committee, and as a member of the executive committee of NARRTC (National Association of RRTCs). He has published in a number of journals, and serves on the editorial boards of ten journals. His co-edited volume, “The Unconnected: Social Justice, Participation, and Engagement in the Information Society” was published in 2013 by Peter Lang Publishing.
