Paul completed a Master of Urban Design at Carnegie Mellon University in May 2018. He is a registered architect in Ecuador, where he studiedhis undergrad as B.Arch. He has lived and studied abroad in Switzerlandand Germany. During his undergrad years, he got involved in variousprograms for leadership with communities throughout Latin America.
His work experiences include academic researching in the field of HistoricUrban Landscape, professionally operating in architectural designingprojects, and urban design consulting. He has also been involved invarious multidisciplinary design-build workshops in the Americas andEurope. In his hometown, Cuenca, he co-founded a youth collective thatseeks to promote proactive involvements between professionals andimpoverished communities.
In 2015, he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study his master in theUSA. During the last two years, his academic involvements have focused inthe thriving post-industrial laboratory of the city of Pittsburgh, the notionof commoning, urban planning, ecologic design, art, and placemaking.
After graduating, Paul is seeking to complete his Post-Degree Academic Training before moving back to Ecuador. During the summer of 2018,he volunteered at Studio for Spatial Practice in Pittsburgh. Currently working at Estudio Teddy Cruz + Fonna Forman, UCSD Community Stations in the San Diego / Tijuana area, as a Research Associate / architectural urban designer.
