Paulo Carreira

Lisbon, Portugal

I'm a computer scientist, university lecturer and a leading expert and researcher in IT for Energy Applications.

I taught myself how to program at the age 14 on a 64K micro. A year later I got my first summer internship at a company after showing off an MS-DOS command line emulator completely written in BASIC. I wrote a compiler that produced executable assembly when I was 18. And when I turned 20, I coded a functional Pascal interpreter in C++ in just a week.

Over the years I used my fascination for electronics and computers to create great software at the service of a number of academic and industry projects.

I am also the CSO of Sensei--perhaps the most promising startup en Europe at the moment.

You can find more about me at my personal web page.
