Paulo Castro

content creator, Instructional Designer, and eLearning Developer in the USA

Welcome! I am Paulo Castro, a native Peruvian, now in Pembroke Pines, Florida. My current professional / business interests include enterprise training and development, as well as education technology. I work as an Instructional Designer or e-Learning Content Developer. I grew up in two different countries, attended four different high schools, and studied in three different languages. Consequently, I developed a sense of appreciation for having a multicultural identity. I started college in Lima, Peru where I focused in the biomedical field. My college studies continued at St. John's University in New York, where I graduated in the top 10% of my class with a B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Molecular Biology & Genetics. My thesis work included research to explain the effects of Spider Neurotoxins. During this period, I presented my research work at major national and international scientific conferences. Later in life, I went through a self-educating period leading to a career in Information Technology. During this period, I worked in a variety of Information Technology roles, including Technical Support Analyst, Technical Trainer, Technical Training Supervisor, and Systems Administrator. It was during this period that I developed a great interest for technology, especially for technologies used to assist and enhance education. On September 11 2001 my life changed. The horrific experience of being two blocks away from the World Trade Center when the terrorist attack occurred scarred my life forever. Once in Florida, the work experience gained in NYC served me to incur in the field of Instructional Design. Soon, I developed a significant portfolio of Fortune 500 clients. Then, I started my own business - I founded FullMind Design in 2006.
