Paul Rhodes

I bring extensive expertise in microbiology diagnostics to his role as Founder of Next Gen, a company specializing in whole genome sequencing solutions for microbiology laboratories.

I founded Next Gen after a successful tenure at Specific Diagnostics in Mountain View, California, where as a senior leader he oversaw the development of advanced diagnostic systems, backed by substantial NIH and CARB-X funding. Drawing on background spanning microbiology, genomics, and infectious disease diagnostics, at Next Gen, I focus on advancing pathogen sequencing technologies by applying his multi-disciplinary knowledge and research experience.

My academic background, including a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from NYU Medical School, a Master's in Physics from Stanford, and an A.B. Magna cum laude in Physics from Harvard, has been the cornerstone of my professional endeavors.
