Paul Rothenberger Jr.

Amherst, Massachusetts

Though I have spent the majority of my life in Southern New Jersey, I have lived in different places in the US including Missouri, California, Michigan, and Massachusetts where I am currently attending school at University of Massachussetts Amherst. I am majoring in Marketing. What inspired me to pursue such a study was my father's position as Northeast Regional Marketing Manager at Ford Motor Company. I visited him often at his work and enjoyed the atmosphere. He taught me things growing up in relation to marketing that I utilize today in my social and professional life.

At UMass Amherst, I am also a contracted Army ROTC Cadet. For those who don't know, Army ROTC is a training program that I am taking through my 4 years enrolled at this university. Upon graduation and successful completetion of the program, I will be comissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. I have wanted to join the military from a young age, being inspired by my Uncle who was a career naval officer, and both my cousins who have attended West Point Military Academy and are serving currently as officers.

What I really enjoy about UMass as well as the military is that belonging to each brings an enourmous sense of community and opportunity. The amount of amazing people I have met through UMass as well as through the ROTC program is astounding. I spent my 2013 summer in Montenegro, Europe on an ROTC trip. My team and I's mission was to improve the Montengrin's English speaking level. This was an incredibally rewarding cultural experience for me and I will always remember it.

Through ROTC and my education at Isenberg School of Management, I hope to build my skills as an affable, organized leader.
