Paul Shapiro is an accomplished author from Sacramento, California. His recently published book, entitled, Clean Meat, is making waves in many industries as it educates the world on the value of growing animal-free meat. Paul has also had the honor of speaking at several TEDx Talk events on the importance of this concept.

Paul Shapiro has been a guest on many news outlets, such as CNN, StarTalk Radio with Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Point of Inquiry, as well as dozens of periodicals. He continues to speak publicly, most prevalently with TEDx, about the food systems currently in place, food systems of the future, and the general treatment and well-being of animals.

As the founder of Compassion Over Killing and a former Vice President at the Humane Society of the United States, Paul Shapiro has had the privilege of spearheading legislative initiatives in order to prevent abuse of farm animals, engage with major food corporations to help end cruel practices in their supply chains, and increase demand for plant-based proteins.

Paul Shapiro also serves as the Founder and CEO of The Better Meat Co. - a business-to-business company that helps institutional food sellers achieve their goals of culinary excellence by providing next-generation plant-based proteins for foodservice providers and meat processors to make their meat, in a word, better.

Today, alongside his partner Toni Okamoto, Paul Shapiro is the Co-Host for the Business for Good Podcast, talking with some of the leading start-up entrepreneurs and titans of industry alike using their businesses to help solve the world’s most pressing problems.
