Paul Simonson

Paul Simonson lived and was raised in the Florida Keys and has been a licensed, Florida-certified public accountant (CPA) since 1994. He is one of over 36,000 CPAs licensed in the state who provide accounting, tax, auditing, financial planning, and management consultancy services. Paul is also a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), which is the largest network of CPAs, accountants, and financial professionals in the state. This organization provides political advocacy and a range of continuing education opportunities.

Paul is a graduate of the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting. As well as providing a rich environment for study, the school’s faculty produce important scholarly work and serve as referees and editors for major accounting journals. Each generation of the school’s graduates contributes to the success of the institution, becoming leaders in the worlds of business and academia. Furthermore, the generous financial support of alumni has allowed the Fisher School to continue to offer a world-class environment for scholarship, learning, and growth.

A divemaster certified by PADI, Paul loves to participate in a range of water sports, including catamaran racing, deep-sea fishing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, hydro sliding, and slalom skiing. He loves spending time with his family, playing the cello, playing electric and bass guitar, creating homemade sushi, reading trade journals and periodicals, and watching movies and documentaries. He also likes to listen to music, especially that of the band Steely Dan, and visit the theatre, citing his favorite play as Fiddler on the Roof.
