A retired lawyer, Paul also taught an upper division writing course at the Marshall School of Business at USC for five years. Through the years, he has published nearly 150 film reviews and op-eds in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Herald Examiner, and the Los Angeles Daily Journal. Many of his pieces were nationally syndicated. He also wrote a humor column on matters involving the practice of law and the life of a lawyer for the Los Angeles Daily Journal for four years. Baseball, though, was Paul's first love. He played in youth leagues, and for his high school, junior college, and college teams. After taking more than 10 years away from playing, he played in the National Adult Baseball Association for nine years from ages 33-41, and was the starting All-Star catcher several times. Paul is retired and lives in Idaho.
