I arrived in China in 2009 and my first experience was my inaptitude of communication at the Beijing airport. Although I had already studied a bit of Chinese, I was not able to speak. The longer I stayed in China, the more I started to understand Chinese language and the habits, which are sometimes very different from the ones I was used to. When I managed to break the language barrier, it helped me to understand the culture as well. And I learned that China requires patience and respect.
As time passed, I forgot about my first experience. However, something similar happened again. This time, it didn’t happen to me but to other people. I realized that people who come to China (either for business, travel, study, etc.) find even the ordinary daily routines very difficult. And without the knowledge of the language and the culture, it is not easy to succeed. I have found out that the communication is not only about the language but also about understanding the cultural background.
People have various reasons to come to China. Some of them look for something exotic, while the others want to see the world, or they want to find success. However, they have something in common: a dream of success that is hard to achieve. Therefore, I have decided to bridge this gap. I am trying to show other people how is China through my pictures, videos and articles.
