Pavlos Delias

I was born in Didimoticho, Greece in 1980. I am a new faculty staff (March 2011) at Kavala Institute of Technology (http://www.teikav.edu.gr/teikav/), Department of Accountancy. I hold a jointly supervised PhD (September 2009) in Informatics from both Technical University of Crete and University Paris Dauphine, under a cotutelle agreement. My Phd Thesis was on Agent-based Workflow Management.I received the Diploma and M.Sc. from the Department of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete, in 2002, and 2005, respectively. Prior to joining TEI of Kavala, I was a research associate with the Decision Support Systems Laboratory, Technical University of Crete ( http://www.ergasya.tuc.gr/ ), while in parallel I was an executive of the technology transfer office of the university (http://www.liaison.tuc.gr/).

I like to self-declare my occupational and research field as: “Applications of Operational Research in Information Systems” while my research interests are in the areas of workflow management, process mining, and multiple criteria analysis. I have contributed to numerous projects as a research associate, focusing on applying the principles of operational research to information systems design and use. I have also published several scientific articles in journals and conference proceedings. My teaching experience is rather rich, teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses like Decision Support Systems, Management Information Systems, Distributed Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Agents, Business Planning. My academic activities include being a reviewer in international journals (e.g. BPMJ – Emerald, COMIND – Elsevier), being member of conferences’ committees and scientific networks (HELORS, HAICTA, EWG-DSS).

I am married with 2 children and I love my family, my work, good food, good booze, acting smartly, and having fun. I don't like (but I can’t fight) my habit of denying to confirm anything early and my curiosity.
