Pay Commission

Pay Commissions, set up by the Government of India, are responsible for reviewing and recommending salary structures for government employees, including both civil and military personnel. Since 1946, seven Pay Commissions have been appointed to adjust pay scales in accordance with economic conditions and changes in the cost of living.
