Payam Jafari

I'm not a filmmaker. Anybody who is studying film, or spending time in filmmaking might be able to become filmmaker, like any other respectable job, but I intend to be an art creator. Film is film, but Art is Art. Payam Jafari was born in August 30th, 1991, Tehran, Iran. He started writing and directing plays when he was nine. At the same time, he started to play two traditional Persian instruments, Setar and Tombak. Three years later he started painting under the direction of professional Iranian painter and calligrapher professor Hossein Kashian. Payam showed his first individual painting exhibition in 2009, Tehran. He gained his bachelor in Filmmaking/ Directing at Sooreh Art University of Tehran. During the undergraduate time he made 5 short films which he won best directing award out of 1000 shorts in Shamseh film festival for the last one called Unknown. It accepted in New filmmakers festival in New York 2014. Payam has written and directed all of his films; in addition, he composed music for two of his shorts. He is student in master degree of Motion Picture and TV/ Directing at Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
