Payam Torabi holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology, completed in January 2025. His doctoral research focused on cultivating microalgae using hydrolysates derived from restaurant food waste to produce sustainable biodiesel and high-value bioproducts.
Payam follows an interdisciplinary approach to food science, combined with food engineering and microalgae biotechnology. He carries out research into valorizing food waste and byproducts into valuable bio-based products that can be gainfully employed as food ingredients.
