Philip completed both his Bsc IT and Bsc IT Honors degree, Cum Laude at RAU
University in South Africa. Philip was a member of the Golden Key Society.
Philip started his first company at the age of 21 after winning Microsoft’s Project Firefly competition with his final year practical thesis in AI and Biometric
technology.
Philip has over 16 years’ experience in the payments and technology industries. Philip has founded multiple, award-winning fintech ventures, the most notable acquiring over 6 million users and was sold to Nasdaq-listed company, Net1 in 2012.

Founded and exited 2 fintech companies by age 30.
Launched Mobile Payment and Value-Added Services in 15 countries
(Africa, India, Europe) across 20+ million users in partnership with
MTN, Vodafone, TNM, Airtel, Orange.
Founder of a Top 40 Fintech company in Africa.

o Largest WASP provider in Namibia, Botswana, Malawi and
South Africa.
Created and launched world’s first Cash-To-MasterCard solution for
UBER in South Africa.
Founded and grew PBEL from 0 to 5+ million online users and $100m
revenue.
Sold PBEL to Nasdaq listed Net1 UEPS Technologies, Inc after 6 years
and built from 0 to 200 employees as CEO.
Philip was responsible for Net1 Group’s Fintech business (CEO). Built
Fintech business from $5m revenue to $140 million in 1 year with more
than 250 employees.
Generated $400+ million in transaction value from mobile and virtual
card payments across more than 20 million cards.
Built and operated micro-lending book of +£100m (£1.2bn p.a.) across
6.5m customers.
Launched Virtual Card technology across Spain, Mexico, USA and South
Africa as well as world’s largest Virtual Card issuing program in India with partners, MobiKwik and VISA – 50 million users.
