Pallavi Bakshi

I'm a southern belle exploring the East Coast as a student at the University of Pennsylvania. I ferociously devour pop culture; I revel in studying the culture and history of Latin America; and I adore my darling golden retriever. As a business student, I'm studying finance, marketing, and legal studies--while those topics may sound disparate, I really enjoy seeing these topics from different angles and perspectives. I also work as a Writing Tutor at the Howard Marks Writing Center which is a wonderful place to meet other writers as well as discuss often esoteric topics seen in multiple disciplines. I'm multilingual, since I speak English, Spanish and Bengali. I have been studying Spanish for 10 years and recently, was able to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina to put my language skills to the test. In fact, the picture of me here is from a trip to the Tigre River Delta, on the southern outskirts of Buenos Aires. Bengali is my native tongue, and I practice speaking it every two years when I visit the cities of New Delhi and Kolkata in India to see my relatives. My interests also include being a huge supporter of the Chelsea Football Club within the Premier League, a preliminary oenologist (the study of wine) student, and collecting porcelain dolls from the many countries I have visited. As I graduate and move onto new post graduate opportunities in New York City (!!!), I can't wait to continue meeting new people and exploring my interests.
