I'm an information technologies consultant and project manager with 20 years of experience in the industry. My goal as a consultant is always to empower my clients by giving them the tools, training, and support they need to work smarter (never harder). I mostly work with small and medium size businesses, but I have worked for and with Fortune 500 companies too. I have had success as a consultant for three reasons:
- When a customer calls, I respond. Businesses can't afford to wait a day or two for their IT guy to show up. My clients get service when they need it, and that is usually immediately. My customers know that if they call, I will at the very least attempt to resolve the issue remotely, until I can physically get there, which is usually in just a few hours.
- I don't have just one boss. I have many! As a self-employed consultant, I work for you. I won't try to sell you things you don't need, ever. If I can find a way to save you money (and I often do), I do it. And I explain technical things in a non-technical manner so that you are informed and comfortable in making decisions.
- I work fast. Unlike many service companies, I believe in getting the job done right the first time, and as quickly as possible. I have no interest in "padding billable hours", and my clients love that. No games, no excuses, no monkey business. And if I tell you its fixed, and it breaks again because I got it wrong, I come back and fix it again. I never ask my clients to pay me for making a mistake.
