Poverty Eradication and Community Empowerment-(PEACE) is a National Non –Governmental organization established and registered in the year 2005 in Kenya with a broad objective of promoting integral development against the extreme poor communities in urban and rural areas. Its vision is to have empowered community groups who can determine their own course of action. PEACE is located and runs its projects in Kariobangi, an informal settlement in Nairobi East. PEACE operates five programs namely: a) Community Empowerment Program (economic and social); b) Peace and Security program; c) Human Rights program, d) Natural Resource Management program and e) Research and Advocacy program. All the programs are cross-cutting and are interrelated. The target group of PEACE programs is women, youth, children and persons with special needs.
