Peace Myth (Paul Smith)

As a solo performer under the name 'Reverbaphon' (from 1998 -
2008) Paul has performed throughout the UK. His compositions are a mixture of electronics, acoustic and invented instruments focussing on 'naive' performance, structured and augmented by
digital technology. Paul has released 3 albums and 1 EP as
'Reverbaphon' on the Benbecula label and has appeared on various compilation albums including the 'wiretapper' CD series. Paul has been reviewed and featured in music magazines throughout Europe, Australia and Japan
including 'The Wire' magazine (London) and De Bug (Berlin). Prior to that he played in 'Novus' (from 1988 - 1994)- a completely 'free' collective. Most gigs involved multi-media (film, texts and video feedback). Paul has also been involved in many one-off collaborative projects.
He held residence at 'the bongo club' for 2 years running during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (1996/1997) with sound artist 'Box'. Paul contributed in part 2 (drums/choir) of the full length performance of Cornelius Cardews 'The Great Learning' in London July 8th/9th 1984. In November 2012 he
