A graduate of Cal State Fresno with a Bachelor’s degree in political science, Pedro is currently a candidate for the Masters in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Urban Planning at Cal State Long Beach. Now located in the Watts Los Angeles area, Pedro is passionate about community involvement and dedicated to giving a voice to underrepresented communities. As an Immigrant, Pedro has worked with elected officials to champion pro-immigrant policies such as the California Dream Act, the Federal Dream Act, and access to an affordable quality education.

Pedro served as an intern for the California Assembly Speaker John A. Perez where he worked on higher education, immigration and urban policy issues. Pedro also helds a position as a communications fellow with the United Farm Workers Foundation (UFWF) where he worked on the legislative campaign on immigration reform.

Presently, Pedro works as a council aide for Los Angeles Council Member Gilbert Cedillo, as Case Manager handling constituent concerns and navigating through the city bureaucracy.

Pedro has a strong commitment to public service holding leadership positions on various university, political, and community organizations. In 2012 Pedro served as Chair of the California Young Democrats Latino Caucus, an organization focused at registering and motivating Latinos to get politically involved.

That same year he was also elected to serve as Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the California State Student Association (CSSA), representing over 420,000 students, the largest university system in the United States, as the spokesperson and lead liaison on higher education legislative policy matters pending before Congress and the state of California.

When Pedro has free time he likes to visit the nearby beaches, hiking, and attends local concerts with his friends.
