Pedro J Irizarry Vargas is a Puerto Rican tenor. Pedro started his music studies at the Interamerican University of San Germán in 2018. During his time there, Pedro had the opportunity to discover his interest in classical music and theatre graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor‘s Degree in Voice Performance with a strong understanding of what it takes to be a successful operatic tenor.

Pedro is presently coursing a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. As part of the Opera Workshop he premiered at the Conservatory the role of ‘El Principe Encantador’ from French ópera with its dialogues translated into Spanish “La Cenicienta” by P. Viardot. Furthermore, Pedro has had the privilege to build a vast collection of operatic repertoire, some scenes include composers such as Britten, Mozart, Donizetti, and Verdi.

Pedro is currently expecting to compete at the Laffont Competition of the Metropolitan Opera in Puerto Rico and will be singing the role of ‘El Señor de la Casa’ from the opera “La historia de aquel que se casó con mujer muda” composed by A. Guidobaldi. In addition, Pedro will also be presenting his graduation recital in the spring of 2026, which has yet to be announced.
