Pedro Mateo

My name is Pedro Luis Mateo Navarro, and I am a computer scientist and researcher from the University of Murcia (UMU, www.um.es), in Spain. I was born in Puerto Lumbreras, a little town of Murcia, in 1984. Much later, in the year 2002/03, I went to Murcia to start a degree in Computer Science Engineering at the Faculty of Computer Science of the UMU. I concluded it in the year 2006/07, with an "Award for the Outstanding Graduate of the Year" in 2005 (at the end of the Technical Engineering), and an academic record that rewarded me with the "Honourable Mention to the Academic Excellence" in 2007. Finally, in the year 2009/10, I studied a Master's degree in "Advanced Information and Telematic Technologies" also in the UMU.

I started working as a C++ developer at the University of Murcia in May, 2007. We started working on some military projects together with the SAES company (Electrónica Submarina, www.electronica-submarina.com).

Later, in December 2008, I started my research activity under the Cátedra SAES initiative (www.catedrasaes.org), a joint effort between SAES and the University of Murcia to work on open-source software, and real-time and critical information systems. Now, I am working towards my PhD in the domain of Software Quality and Usability through the User Iinterfaces.
