Penrith Farms

Penrith Farms is a specialized program for young adults located in Eastern Washington that helps clients build the confidence, virtues, and communication skills need to succeed in an increasingly competitive society. Through programs that are rooted in self-discovery and awareness, Penrith Farms helps young adults realize their potential and works to help them overcome issues of self-worth, doubt, or other behaviors that could prevent individuals from living a productive and meaningful life. Along with a positive peer culture that fosters group encouragement, staff members connect with clients through constructive counseling, which helps build healthy, trusting, and sustainable relationships with family, friends, and others.

Along with counseling and education, Penrith Farms helps individuals develop skills used in daily life, such as how to properly budget and understand finances, how to apply and interview for employment, or how to live independently in a home. Special-interest classes tap into a client's creative and technical skill set and include activities such as automotive and engine repair, photography and art, culinary arts, and construction. In addition, Penrith Farms offers a number of enriching outdoor activities on the property's sprawling 320 acres.

Admission to Penrith Farms is based on a variety of factors, including a review of a client's behavioral history, parental interviews, and professional consulting. Typical students are young adults over the age of 18 with any combination of moderate academic, behavioral, emotional, or social challenges, including but not limited to drug and alcohol abuse, self-esteem issues, or interpersonal conflicts.
