James Pepper Rutland is the Founder and CEO of MMR Group Inc., an electrical and instrumentation firm that is headquartered in Baton Rouge, yet reaches locations around the world. Over the last quarter of a century, MMR Group has expanded into new domestic and global territories by remaining faithful to its mission: providing clients with exceptional value through effective and efficient work that is procedurally sound. Because of their dedication and expertise, MMR Group has been established as a frontrunner in the electrical contracting sector and received multiple accolades. Most recently, MMR Group was named the largest electrical contractor and top specialty contractor by Engineering News-Record (ENR) of Texas and Louisiana.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Pepper is an active philanthropist and the majority of his time and effort goes into donating to his alma mater, LSU. LSU still holds a special place in Peppers life. He is an active board member of LSU’s Charles McClendon Scholarship Foundation. The scholarship gives children of former LSU student athletes the financial means to receive an education. Pepper Rutland is also a member of the LSU Construction Management program and speaks at various events to promote the organization.

Recently, Pepper was honored by the University for his generous donations to the school. His contributions of over one million dollars were highlighted by a ribbon cutting ceremony and the naming of a gate at Tiger Stadium. The former student athlete enjoys giving University students opportunities to ensure that they have bright futures ahead of them.
