Digital Strategist, Content Marketer, and Public Relations in Queens, New York
I am a media strategist who has worked on multiple platforms. I have experience on the content creation side as a radio reporter who focused on worker rights and issues impacting the Latino/a/x community. At present, I work at The Opportunity Agenda to help tell stories related to criminal justice reform, immigration, and worker in a way that centers impacted communities. I have managed communications campaigns from idea to broadcast.
I tend to focus on content creation, where I work with community advocates to develop videos, articles or social media campaigns which can help elevate a specific cause to the public milieu. I have often straddled the line between journalism and advocacy because of my passion for politics. That being said, I believe that it is the mission of every journalist, regardless of their political leanings, to portray all of the facts as clearly as possible.
Previously, I was the Manager of Advocacy and Digital Strategy at LatinoJustice, a legal defense fund that advocates for the civil rights of Latinos in New York and around the country. In this capacity, I regularly attend advocacy meetings and helping organizations craft their media strategy for upcoming actions or events. I also develop videos or articles to share through our social media platforms.
