Héctor 'Hecdog' Pérez is a 2013 Grammy nominated Oakland-based Music composer and producer. On December 5th, 2012, Hecdog's debut album "SISTEMA BOMB presenta Electro Jarocho" was nominated for Best Album in the 'Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative' category. "Sembrando Flores" by Los Cojolites, an album he mixed and co-produced, was also nominated for a 2013 Grammy for Best Album in the "Regional Mexican Music" category. Sistema Bomb earned 'Song of The Week' on iTunes and was the featured artist for Starbucks and iTunes Mexico.

Hecdog hails from the prestigious Hamilton High Music Academy in Los Angeles, which has produced some of today's leading musicians such as Abe Laboriel Jr (Paul McCartney), Asdru Sierra (Ozomatli), Ron Blake (Green Day, Poncho Sanchez), Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Dr Dre), and multi-Grammy winning engineer, Manny Marroquin.

Pérez studied Electronic Music at UC Berkeley and graduated with Honors while participating in many ground-breaking research projects at the University's Center for New Music and Audio Technologies.

With a fresh degree from one of the nation's most prestigious universities, Hecdog was hired at A&M Records, where he worked with Motley Crue, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and Bon Jovi. He was then scooped up by his Alma Mater, UC Berkeley, as the Music Department's head Audio Engineer.

Hecdog was then discovered by one of Bay Area's leading music companies, 'Michael Boyd Music' and was soon promoted to West Coast Creative Director, where Pérez scored music on commercials for Coca Cola, Reebok, Adidas, Levis, Toyota, and Nike among many others.

In 2001, Héctor founded Music Orange, which later partnered with Hank Smith Music to form Music Orange, Inc., which has scored hundreds of spots for clients such as Apple, HP, Sony, Adidas, Yahoo, & VISA.

In 2003, Hecdog co-scored "Daughter From Danang" which won the Grand Jury award at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a 2003 Academy Award. He co-scored the HBO film and Sundance winner, My Flesh and Blood in 2004.

Hecdog mixed and co-produced Maldita Vecindad's album Circular Colectivo in 2010.

In 2013, Perez was inducted into the UC Berkeley Wall Of Fame.

After his success with Sistema Bomb, in 2014 Hector Perez was featured and interviewed on NPR's award winning program, FORUM with Michael Krasney.

In 2019, Perez scored the music to "La Serenata", which won the audience award for Best Short Film at the QWOC Film Festival in San Francisco.
