An East African native, I've lived most of my life in sunny southern California, with the last three years in the bay area for graduate school. I've spent the better part of the last five years in the classroom- as student and teacher. I'm currently making the transition from education to the social media business world.

I enjoy the labor of connecting, sharing and spreading ideas with people. I’ve been engulfed in close readings, essays, presentations and deadlines these last few years. In retrospect, I've been honing skills that are valuable for social media optimization. The basis of most of my work has relied on my being able to communicate my ideas effectively to a diverse audience.

I'm confident in my ability to operate and function on all the major social media platforms. I’m aware of the major, current (especially, pop culture) trends simply being a part of the conversations.

I’m working towards familiarizing myself with the core programming concepts and syntax of the web via “Code Academy,” on top of devoting some hours to playing around with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I’m currently in a Microsoft Office and Google Apps course. I’m doing all of this because, why not!

My ideal job would allow me to exercise my creative side, while also flexing my analytical skills. Being a student and teacher simultaneously has taught me how to organize, prioritize and function around deadlines. My personality yearns for and thrives in those spur-of-the-moment, think-on-your-toes scenarios. I desire constant creative and analytical experimentation.

I believe my unique professional journey is my strength, it may not be in business or marketing-- but I know I have the necessary creative and managing skills set for a job in social media optimization.
