Student in Athens, Georgia
Hello Im William Parham Waddell, but I go by Perry. Perry? If you took a closer look at my name you, just like many others, would ask where that name comes from, and to be honest I have no idea. Well now that the awkward convo is over, let’s get to the fun stuff about me. I absolutely love long walks on the beach, and riding my stallion “Flicka”. No, really let’s get to it. I was born and raised in the southernmost part of Georgia. A couple of stoplights, and a gas station here and there was about all we had. Four wheelers and mud was a luxury vacation, and baseball tournaments were the highlight of my summer and that is how I was raised. Needless to say, it was a big culture shock for me to attend the University of Georgia, but it is something that I have thoroughly enjoyed since. Since attending the University of Georgia I have developed a new hobby: poetry. Poetry has helped me to express the new things that I have learned here at UGA. It is so entertaining for me to go back after writing a poem and reflect on the subjects that I wrote about. I have slowly but surely found my way here at UGA and have high hopes for the next few years. I currently work with the UGA Athletic Department keeping all of the Athletic facilities at UGA in tip-top shape. I take great pride in the work I do at my job, and my work in the classroom. Being from a family of all UGA Alum I have big shoes to fill here, but with the help of my professors and peers, I look forward to bettering myself in the coming years.
