Pete Bayliss

A highly adaptable and forward-thinking composer and sound designer. Pete is based in South Wales and began his career as a keyboard player over 35 years ago.

Operating under the banner of Jamyama Studios, He now creates a distinct mix of music and audio featuring synth backbones, heavy orchestral riffs through to melodic ambiences with myriad rich atmospheric textures and ground-shaking tremors.

He loves creating atmospheres and instances that reach out to an audience, transporting them to another place. Could be real, could be imaginary. His job is to seek out and create those experiences.

Discovery and progression are vital and he's not afraid to pull things apart, mix it all up and experiment, while recognising the need for space. Enabling stories to be told, to breathe and to flourish.

Living deep in the heart of the South Wales Valleys is an endless source of inspiration. Never short of fresh air, green open spaces and a natural compulsion to explore.

Pete is also a Freelance Union Learning Representative (ULR) for The Musicians Union and works closely with other ULR members of BECTU, Equity and The Writers Guild throuout Wales.
