Peter Rancie

executive in Midway, Utah

Peter Rancie is a co-founder and managing director of TranzactCard, headquartered in Provo, Utah. With a career spanning nearly four decades as strategist in product design and customer aggregation for financial institutions, Rancie has built an impressive track record in the financial sector, from a government housing project in Melbourne, Australia, to an international footprint.

Rancie's professional journey in financial services kicked off alongside his brother, Ken. Their partnership became a wellspring of strategic ideas for leading Australian institutions. Together, they provided consultancy to a range of Australian financial institutions. They cut their teeth with a relatively obscure enterprise, OST Friendly Society, growing them from $1 million to $1 billion over 5 years, and then graduated to major players such as Westpac (currently listed at 50 in the world’s top 100 banks), its subsidiary St. George Bank, and major insurance and funds management firms, such as National Mutual, which was later acquired by AXA, and Australian Mutual Provident.

As his career grew, Rancie engaged with financial institutions beyond the shores of Australia, including in Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. His contributions to the U.S. banking sector earned him a seat on the Board of the United States Bankers Association (USBA — usbankers.org). As part of this organization, Rancie helps guide initiatives aimed at fostering the growth and profitability of U.S. community banks.

Beyond his accomplishments in the financial world, Rancie has diverse professional interests, which include documentary and feature film production and a collection of investments in the hospitality sector within the Intermountain West.

Prior to his foray in the financial world, Rancie’s storied career began as an elementary school teacher, having graduated from the Bendigo Campus of LaTrobe University, Victoria, Australia.

Together with his wife Christine, they have six children and are looking forward to the arrival of their 13th grandchild in late 2023. They divide their time between residences in Midway, Utah and Mansfield, Australia.
