Peter has been involved with distance education, continuing education and educational development in higher education for over 15 years, first in the Ontario college system and since 1998, at the University of Guelph where he currently works as the Director of the Centre for Open Learning and Educational Support.
Bringing his adult and continuing education background to the fore, Peter focused his early career on accessibility and educational technology use in higher education. In recent years Peter has become known as an advocate for enhanced access to and development of quality higher education learning. His areas of expertise and leadership include the facilitation of evidence-based curriculum development processes at the University of Guelph and beyond. He has been a member of the Ontario Council of Academic Vice Presidents Joint Committee working on the province-wide Undergraduate Degree-Level Expectations initiative and as a member of the Engineering Graduate Attributes Group supporting the Canada-wide transition to outcomes-based accreditation.
Deeply committed to extending higher educational learning opportunities, Peter has also been a board member of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).
