Peter Nixon

Dialogue Gap was discovered by Peter Nixon while consulting, coaching and training thousands of senior executives in over 50 countries.

Peter’s second book entitled Dialogue Gap is due out late 2011. His first book was Negotiation, Mastering Business in Asia (Wiley, 2005).

Originally from the French Canadian city of Montreal, Peter began his international career in 1984 working as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) one of the world’s leading audit firms. Peter launched his own consultancy in 1994 to allow for specialisation and time with his young family.

Since launching his consultancy, Peter’s mantra, The Solution is in the Dialogue©, has become a constant refrain with his clients. Recognising the urgent need to improve dialogue globally Peter is now busy building an international network of dialogue leaders who will be able to promote effective dialogue in offices, schools, hospitals, governments, families to address the growing challenges facing us @work, @home and in society.

Peter’s workshops are often rated as the best workshops people have ever attended. Participants describe them as being fun, practical, interactive, directly linked to participants’ challenges and memorable.

Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Montreal in 1988 before moving to Geneva and then Hong Kong where he launched his consulting practice in 1994. Since that time he has travelled extensively and worked with a variety of organisations, cultures and executives. Peter has collected various academic
recognitions from Bishop’s, McGill, U of A, Leicester, Harvard and INSEAD. He is now a visiting lecturer in the HKU/London/Columbia Global EMBA.

When not busy with clients and research Peter enjoys family and community endeavours in the rural settings of Discovery Bay (Hong Kong) and Mt. Tremblant – Lac Des Iles (Canada).
