Peter R

Peter was born in the UK and became a US citizen 12 years ago. The second eldest of four children, his father was an officer in the Royal Navy for the whole of his working life. His mother was an accomplished musician and artist. She also worked for the UK Government both before and during the Second World War.

Peter followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Royal Navy as an officer entrant rising to Commander by the time his commission ended. He then pursued a career in the banking world, which he left in the late 1990's to follow his business interests. Sadly, in 2003 he lost his wife of 32 years to cancer.

Peter has two adult married children and three grandchildren.

In 2009 he met his second wife Ashley, an American, who also has two adult children and four grandchildren. She was also widowed and was 16 years Peter's junior.

During a long career in banking Peter acquired the necessary skills to build a very successful business 'empire'. These skills combined with the benefit of a naval career ensured he was both disciplined and organised in his approach to business affairs. Gained a degree in economics at university.

As a young naval officer his career took him to many places around the globe, including liaison with the US Navy. That work cemented many good relationships with US Navy personnel, which continued into civilian life, and imbued Peter with a love of the USA.

Fortuitously, during a business meeting at the University of Cambridge UK, ten years ago, he met his wife to be. They were together until January 2018 when Ashley sadly passed away due to an unforeseen and short illness.

Peter's personal business life started with an interest in real estate and he soon built a substantial portfolio, both in the UK and overseas. To this he added construction and also bought into commercial property. It was a joining of equals when he married Ashley. Not only in an emotional sense, but also in terms of wealth. Sadly, Ashley passed way in early 2018.

Their business interests range thru real estate, fashion, the leisure industry, music, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, retail outlets and investment banking.

Peter is an accomplished and published author, photographer and, for fun, likes to travel, breed horses, sail and paint. He has homes in several locations within the US and others overseas. He is fluent in Italian and speaks some German, Spanish and French. Resident in Florida and Massachusetts.
